Luckily Blogger passed on the comment of the lovely Bloody Frida, so I found them all.

@Frida - happy anniversary, a little late! I'm an April Fool's Day bride, myself. No, really.

@JoanElaine, I need to check those two out. This is a note I want to learn to love. :)

@Muse - It's not an age thing that kept me from doing the May Pole dance. My Catholic school didn't do it for some reason. Probably that whole pagan tie-in. Who freakin' knows? loljensunhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00041130248100842593noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2543727401374792804.post-28115444869036273992011-06-08T06:30:56.154-07:002011-06-08T06:30:56.154-07:00I absolutely adore this post!!! I'm a huge May Day fan (in fact, got married on May Day)!!Carolhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06394558427981331885noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2543727401374792804.post-32413815004643021112011-05-07T09:09:06.793-07:002011-05-07T09:09:06.793-07:00I'm not really sure what Lily of the Valley sm...I'm not really sure what Lily of the Valley smells like either (I'm not sure the note I think is LotV, really is LotV), but I have in my mind what I think it smells like...to me it is soft pink and a little bit waxy. That may not make sense to anyone but me, but it is the best way I can describe it.Alicehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18304290988059942320noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2543727401374792804.post-17281165885270359412011-05-03T08:37:43.387-07:002011-05-03T08:37:43.387-07:00Wow! Lily of th...Wow! You dove into May Day head first!

Lily of the valley is one of my favorite flowers. Those little white bells and the smooth green leaves are perfection. The fragrance of LotV is a sentimental favorite that reminds me of childhood.

I have some vintage Diorissimo EdT and it really does smell just like the flower(once the initial acetone-like scent wears away, takes about 30 seconds. It's not a perfect vinatge specimen by any means).

I just tried Odalisque by Parfums de Nicolai which to me smells like a fruity LotV - but that's not a bad thing. It's quite a joyful perfume. I'm just struggling to wear it right now, as with Diorissimo. I'm still wearing my cozy scents because it's cold and wet out there!JoanElainehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01356174815156243516noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2543727401374792804.post-30804686534436332202011-05-01T18:19:46.612-07:002011-05-01T18:19:46.612-07:00Well, SOMEBODY is having a fabbo time in her pink ...Well, SOMEBODY is having a fabbo time in her pink sunglasses!

LotV can be a little... tyrannical... in composition. Tends to stand out. Which is fine if you like it, and can ruin the whole deal if you don't.

I like it. Wore Diorissimo today, layered with a teeny bit of Idylle edt (heavier on the florals, esp. LotV, lighter on the patchouli).

We used to do maypole dances in elementary school gym class. (C'mon, I'm not THAT much older than you...) It was fun.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
